I need to keep this one short:
I was expecting a loss as I’m sure everyone was at some point. I’d rather it come against a team like Montreal where we can get back into the series with one good performance, but that being said I think a shutout may be the best kind of loss for these guys.
We were out skated and outmatched the entire game. Nobody looked good and rather than blame specific players or the refs (all of which guilty) I think this team had shades of Hakstol bleeding through top to bottom and nothing went right for us. GOOD!
This team needed to show they were playing flat for this series. It was evident last game and now this game it’s on display for everyone to see. This team should be embarrassed and that’s exactly what happened tonight. This shutout embarrassed them as it should’ve. They got shut down for 3 periods against a team that couldn’t beat the Red Wings once this year.
This is a kick in the ass for this team and I trust the players as well as coach Vigneault to turn this around and to push them towards a long run in the playoffs this year. Game 3 is now the most important game of the series and it absolutely needs to be our turning point.
